We try to collect as little as we need to run Todo Buddy well. We do not sell your personal information. This policy describes the data we handle and your rights over it.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account.
• Task content — the to-dos, due dates, and notes you add.
• Photos — images you choose to upload to generate a custom character.
• Support messages — anything you send us when you contact support.

Information collected automatically

• Device & app data — device type, operating system, app version, and settings.
• Usage & analytics — how you interact with features, to help us improve.
• Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data.
• Approximate location — derived from your IP address (not precise GPS).

Information from third parties

• App stores — subscription and purchase status (the stores handle your payment details, not us).
• Integrations — calendar and reminder data, only if you connect them and grant permission.

3. How we use your information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• Generate your custom characters and their scenes;
• Send beta invites, reminders, and important service notices;
• Provide customer support;
• Keep the Service secure and prevent abuse;
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Waitlist emails

If you join the waitlist, we use your email only to send your beta invite and closely related updates. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing privacy@nudge.app.

5. Photos & custom characters

Photos you upload are used solely to generate your character and are stored securely. You can delete them at any time from within the app, and we delete the underlying files when you do or when your account is closed. We do not use your photos to train unrelated models or sell them to anyone.

6. How we share information

We share personal information only in these limited situations:

• Service providers — vetted processors that host our infrastructure, run analytics, generate images, or process payments, acting on our instructions;
• People you choose — if you use shared buddies or a Squad, the people you invite can see the scenes and tasks you share with them;
• Legal reasons — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security;
• Business transfers — as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards such as encryption in transit and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in the EEA or UK, these rights arise under the GDPR; if you are in California, under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any of these, email privacy@nudge.app and we will respond within the time required by law.

10. Cookies & similar technologies

Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

11. Children’s privacy

Todo Buddy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International data transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for those transfers.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email and update the “Last updated” date above.
